Residence of the US delegation and President Obama
During the NSS 2014 Summit of March 24th and 25th, the presidential teams of China and the United States of America stayed in Noordwijk. The United States team had their residence in Hotel “Huis ter Duin ", the location where the Tappenbeck brothers, using the call sign PCTT, Dutch radio history has been written and in 1923, from Leiden with their friends Jesse and Hollander, by call sign PCII, the first QSO made between the Netherlands and the United States of America. The Radio Club Noordwijk was one of the forerunners of the VERON. During this summit became the area off “Huis ter Duin” by US law temporary US- territory!
With this callsign, we indicated our respects to the inspiration of this recurring conferences.

Tijdens de NSS 2014-top van 24 en 25 maart, verbleven het team van China en de Verenigde Staten van Amerika met hun presidenten in Noordwijk. Het team van de Verenigde Staten van Amerika verbleef in Hotel “Huis ter Duin”, de locatie waar de gebroeders Tappenbeck met hun zender PCTT Nederlandse radiogeschiedenis schreven en in 1923, vanuit Leiden met hun vrienden Jesse en de Hollander, met de roepletters PCII het eerste QSO tussen Nederland en de Verenigde Staten van Amerika maakten. De Radio Club Noordwijk was één van de voorlopers van de VERON.
Met deze roepletters duidden we onze respect naar de inspirator van deze regelmatig terugkerende conferenties.
